The LIVE team took a trip this past weekend to Caen in France.. The opponents were expected to be tough and we set our goals on our own side of the net meaning we knew that winning was less important and realistic than progressing as a team.
After 15 hours of driving to get there we spend a day touring some of Caen before playing our first game at night vs. Nantes Volley from the top of the French Pro League. A clear 3-0 loss was the result and we got to see how far we still have to go in our Development as a team..
Saturday morning we had a hard practice before playing Again in the afternoon where Amiens from the 2nd French League was waiting. Again we lost 3-0 and Again we struggled with our deals all around, but it was better than Friday and the girls kept their heads high.
Sunday another practice and another game this time against a top team from Belgium. Result was the same as the past 2 days, but we finally saw some better offense and our deals in defense worked better, so all in all very encouraging.
We arrived home Monday morning and we are right back at Work in the gym getting ready for Next weekend.. The girls are feeling the physical pressure of preseason, but everyone is keeping their head up and Work hard..
Thank you to players and coaches on the trip to France.. As a headcoach I am proud of the roster we have put together this year and I am very excited for the days and months ahead..
